Hi friends, have you all wondered how your smartphones, smart T.V's and Desktop's become thin and lightweight?
And do you think that what the size of the components on those PCB's?
So let you know about those components and PCB's. In olden days the PCBs were made by hand i.e. less production is produced per day or per week. The copper traces are drawn with hand and they are uneven and that's why they are large enough.

In the above pictures, you can find the PCB of a tape recorder the upper side is shown in picture (a) and the bottom side i.e. soldered side is in picture (b).
In picture (b) the conducting tracks are drawn with a free hand so that's why the tracks are not in a uniform way. But this generation PCBs are very well developed and having less number of spaces between the tracks and they are not drawn with freehand so they are small and portable.
PCBs are classified on the basis of
1. The number of layers - conducting layers inside PCB.
2. Conducting tracks i.e. copper, silver, aluminum, etc.
3. Single-sided or double-sided. conducting side is only one side or both sides of PCB.
4. The flexibility of clad.
5. SMDs - Surface Mount Devices. They are very small in size i.e. in 1mm
From the above pictures, the components are large enough and the thickness is normal and because of the components are large enough and that's why the PCB area is large enough. And the PCB is single-sided i.e. only one side is conductive. And it's copper tracks are drawn by hand.
In the smartphones and smart T.V's the PCBs are small in size, thin layers i.e. 1mm to 2mm thickness they are multilayered PCBs. They are mounted with SMDs refer to point (5).

1. The center black block is the heart and brain of the smartphone the processor SD616.
2. The left side silver-colored is the vibrator.

So this is how the internal components look like from the above images. And the SMDs are mounted on the motherboard and those black components are known as diodes, and some are capacitors, resistors, etc., And the SMDs are in the size of an ant and even smaller. The above smartphone components are of my friend's phone Lenovo vibe K5 plus.
And similarly, Smart TVs, Monitors, Portable printers, Portable Projectors, Bluetooth devices like headphones, earpods, etc., and many more smart gadgets are becoming small and portable.
